Brave Not Perfect by Reshma Saujani Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 I have had the pleasure of not just meeting @reshmasaujani multiple times, but being a part of a focus group for this book—and I cannot say enough amazing things about her and Brave Not Perfect! This book was exactly what I needed when I picked it up and it’s one that I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to be a little more brave in their lives. No matter how big (speaking up for yourself at a meeting with higher-ups) or small (saying hello to coworkers you don’t usually talk to) your acts of bravery might be, this is the book that will help you make them a reality. Brave Not Perfect definitely helped me to be a little more brave in my day-to-day life, but I do want to warn you the actionable advice doesn’t happen to the 3rd part of the book, so be patient! The info she teaches you first is important to understand before diving into acts of bravery.

When by Daniel Pink Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟1/2 When is all about “the scientific secrets of perfect timing”—just as the subtitle suggests. And, the book definitely delivers tons of startling and revealing science. (My favorite research revealed that children are more successful in school when they begin learning later in the day—and yet school days keep starting earlier and earlier.) While the book is very heavy in terms of scientific evidence, each chapter ends with a “Time Hacker Handbook” where you receive tips like “how to take the perfect nap”, “situations where you should go first”, and “four areas where you can create better endings”. I loved these! I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking to understand how to better plan their day—with the warning that there is a lot of science to read through to understand why his advice works.
